Building a bungalow on The Ryde estate in the 1960s
This gallery shows how Plot 613 on the fledgling Ryde Estate became home to a Colt Bungalow, erected in 1963-4 by the Bell family. The photos were taken by the late Colin Bell and are reproduced here with kind permission of Hazel Bell – and with thanks to Aidan Bell for preparing the individual images.
Work started on 3rd June 1963 and progressed through the following winter into 1964 when work was finally completed and the Bell family could finally settle in.
