An anthology of Hatfield poems dating from the seventeenth century to the present day. An astonishing number of historical poems that mention Hatfield have been identified.
We would have liked to include John Betjeman’s poem “Hertfordshire”, written after WW2 and when Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield and WGC were all designated new towns following the New Towns Act of 1946, and deploring the effects; but we were unable to obtain copyright permission. A quick search with Google should reveal it.
