Hatfield and Its People

The story of a new town, a garden city, an old village, a historic house, the farms and the countryside in a Hertfordshire Parish

(by Hatfield W.E.A.)

A series of 13 booklets (plus cumulative index) about the history of Hatfield.

When the series was originally published around sixty years ago, it was rightly regarded as an exceptionally authoritative and informative work, and has remained unchallenged as the primary source of reference for anyone interested in the history of Hatfield.

Members of Hatfield Local History Society undertook this re-issue in 2014, adding a much-needed index to each volume and also a separate volume containing a cumulative index to the whole series. The 14 booklets (including cumulative index) are available for purchase at £6 each.

Alternatively, see our Hatfield and Its People: Compendium version which concatenates ALL of the booklets into a massive 588-page single volume.

It is worth saying that these booklets don’t cover the history of De Havilland as so many other books have been published over the years,
